Meet Our Management Team


Don Ritter

Founder
Chief Executive Officer

Don brings to his leadership of Endurance diverse experience in oil and gas engineering, technology, and management. Don spent the last 10 years leading Endurance Resources I & II, and its predecessor, TriTex Energy A, LP as President and CEO. Don spent the first 19 years of his career at Mobil, where he served in various engineering and management roles in the United States and internationally and developed expertise in drilling engineering, completion design, and project planning. Before co-founding the predecessor company of Endurance in 2008, Don led the engineering, business development, and sales efforts at GeoMechanics International, a technology firm focused on helping companies maximizing success in horizontal resources plays.

David Grace

Executive V.P. of Geoscience

David Grace joined Endurance Resources as Executive VP of Geoscience. Prior to joining Endurance, he was the Exploration Manager at ExL Petroleum. He worked successfully to identify, develop, and sell multiple assets in both the Wolfbone in Delaware and the Wolfberry in the Midland Basin. Before ExL, David also worked at Patriot Resources and Piedra Resources. Mr. Grace began his career at Henry Petroleum.

During his tenure at Henry Petroleum, Mr. Grace was an integral part of a team credited by many with the advent of the Wolfberry Play. Prior roles include Senior Geologist and Interim Exploration Manager. In those roles, he drilled and completed more than 600 vertical Wolfberry wells. He is a past President of the WTGS (West Texas Geological Society) and also served on the board of the West Texas Geology Foundation. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Geology. David has the magic touch of an oil-finder, and we are excited to have him on the team.

M. Lawson Mertz

V.P. of Land

Lawson Mertz serves as Vice President of Land. Lawson began his career at Southern Star Exploration, working cradle to grave projects in Texas Gulf Coast and Arkansas as a landman. He then worked on vertical Wolfberry at Linn Energy, Land Manager of Houston’s office Anadarko Basin, and last working with Diamondback Energy. At Diamondback Lawson served as the Land Supervisor of the Delaware Basin and was responsible for over 100,000 net acres across the Southern Delaware Basin. Lawson has the strategic mind and vision to put together exceptional plays and deals. Lawson graduated with a BS and BA degree from Southern Methodist University.

Hunter Cardwell

V.P. of Finance

Hunter Cardwell joined Endurance in June 2015 and has since been responsible for all finance functions of Endurance Resources. He oversaw and managed rapid asset growth in Endurance's two entities during his tenure. Prior to Endurance, Hunter was most recently with Crestline Investors, a ~$8B alternative asset manager where he evaluated distressed Oil & Gas credit opportunities. Hunter also worked at Disiere Holdings, a 'family office' where he analyzed debt and equity investments across a multitude of industries. BBA-Finance: SMU, 2008. MBA: Duke University, 2015. Brad Booth

Controller

Brad Booth joined the Endurance team in 2014 as the Endurance account manager for OGBS, Endurance's third-party accounting vendor. At OGBS, Brad was responsible for all Accounting functions for Endurance Resources. He served as Controller & Director of Corporate Development for Icon Midstream from February 2016 - February 2017. Brad began his career as an Audit Associate with Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP. Most recently, Brad served as controller/financial director for Jay-Bee Oil and Gas.
