Meet Our Management Team

David Grace

David Grace joined Endurance Resources as Executive VP of Geoscience. Prior to joining Endurance, he was the Exploration Manager at ExL Petroleum. He worked successfully to identify, develop, and sell multiple assets in both the Wolfbone in Delaware and the Wolfberry in the Midland Basin. Before ExL, David also worked at Patriot Resources and Piedra Resources. Mr. Grace began his career at Henry Petroleum.

During his tenure at Henry Petroleum, Mr. Grace was an integral part of a team credited by many with the advent of the Wolfberry Play. Prior roles include Senior Geologist and Interim Exploration Manager. In those roles, he drilled and completed more than 600 vertical Wolfberry wells. He is a past President of the WTGS (West Texas Geological Society) and also served on the board of the West Texas Geology Foundation. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Geology. David has the magic touch of an oil-finder, and we are excited to have him on the team.

M. Lawson Mertz

V.P. of Land

Lawson Mertz serves as Vice President of Land. Lawson began his career at Southern Star Exploration, working cradle to grave projects in Texas Gulf Coast and Arkansas as a landman. He then worked on vertical Wolfberry at Linn Energy, Land Manager of Houston’s office Anadarko Basin, and last working with Diamondback Energy. At Diamondback Lawson served as the Land Supervisor of the Delaware Basin and was responsible for over 100,000 net acres across the Southern Delaware Basin. Lawson has the strategic mind and vision to put together exceptional plays and deals. Lawson graduated with a BS and BA degree from Southern Methodist University.
